Here are six of the Tales collected from last year:

Sandal Street   'Our House' Madness

Sandal Street is where my son was born. It was our first house. I lived here for four and a half years. First people into the new estate. It was a building site. It was exciting being part of a new development.

Miles Platting Library   'Trouble' Elvis Presley

At school, teacher thought I was trouble. So I had little education. One day I went to the library and found a book called 'The Outsider' by Albert Camus. Finding that book changed my life and led to university. When I heard the library was closing, it made me very angry. Libraries change lives.

Nelson Street   'Football Crazy' Robin Hall & Jimmy MacGregor

A last game of football, season '94 at Miles Platting Primary School. One game away from an undefeated season and league title. O-O half time, pressure, tension. 10 minutes from the end we win a penalty. Power-boots Billy Anderson steps up. Boom - back of the net. Champions!

Livesey Street   'Painter Man' Boney M

In 1996 St George's Community Centre was having a mural painted on the side wall by Jay. I was surprised to see one day that the artist had painted myself and my baby daughter in the mural.

Sawley Road   'He ain't heavy, he's my brother' The Hollies

I've lived here for 13 years. When I came here people were fighting each other. I set up Miles Platting football team. People now call me 'brother', 'king' and everyone knows me.

Victoria Mill   'Ghostbusters' Ray Parker Jnr

(As a kid) we was always told there was a woman who walked in the tower called Annabella. I was too scared to go in. Our Jamie used to work there. We only went in when it was dark. When empty we used to try and get in.
